The range of Go Green Functional Teas & Infusions allied the pharmaceutical science to the knowledge of who recognizes, appreciates and improves the best plants from selected origins. In this junction of knowledge, we obtained raw material selection of excellent quality, with multiple benefits to the health and wellness.
It comes from the need to add the advantages of bioactive ingredients to the benefits of the traditional plants, towards a specific functionality, with positive effects on the health and wellness, and also as a complement to the existing food supplements.
The range of Go Green Functional Teas & Infusions, gathers the benefits of the traditional plants to the advantages of others bioactive ingredients, which have beneficial effects proved by the EFSA, on the maintenance and promotion of health and wellness, and also on the solution of specific health problems.
The plant in her natural stage has important features that will be extracted at the tea making time, but this extraction will drag also all the malignant compounds. Therefore, on the preparation of this ancestral drink, it is a priority to assure that any compound that doesn´t belong to the organic plant, will be eliminated. The control of pesticides, antibiotics and heavy metals, though not visible, is one of the most important steps to make sure that our teas and infusions may be drunk and enjoyed with total health and safety.
This plant grinding process, in environment under liquid nitrogen pressure, at temperatures below -190ºC, keeps all their organoleptic properties untouched. The volatile additives and the thermolabile substances are kept intact, giving the Teas and Infusions remarkable aroma and flavours. On the gridding traditional processes, there is heat production, which destroys, in an irrecoverable way, the aroma, actives, and thermolabile substances of the plants. That is the reason why the Go Green range only uses cryogenic grinding plants, assuring the protection of the active ingredients.
The Go Green Teas and Infusions are developed in a way to maximize the quantity and quality of the active ingredients and aromas, extracted from the plants. For that reason, we use a filter paper of high quality, with great extractive power, high bidirectional permeability level of fluids, to enable a complete and inspiring experience.
The absence of staples makes the bags more hygienic and safe, according with the most advanced security rules.
The wire is made of 100% cotton, and no staple is used. It’s only thermo collage.
To avoid that staples and other type of materials, may change the plants composition and flavour, we use food glue 100% certified. The glue is used to stick the product label to the wire.
The complex used on the envelopes guarantees the stability and preservation of the plants until the moment of their use. Go Green doesn’t use classic paper on the Teas and Infusions, once it doesn’t allow to preserve the original characteristics of the plants.
The tea history starts in ancestral age, on Chinese territory. Between legends that recount the birth of this aromatic drink, the most famous tells that its roots date from 5000 years ago, at the time of the Sheng Emperor, popularly known as the Divine Healer. When trying to find a solution to the frequent outbreaks in his Kingdom, the Emperor created a law that obliged the people to boil the water before they drunk it.
One day, when he was resting under a tree, he left is cup of water cool a little, and noticed that some leaves had fallen in the water, adding a brown color. He tried it and found out that this drink had a pleasant flavor, and so he started promoting this drink to his people.
Many centuries later, between 618 - 906 a.C., during the T’ang, Dynasty, the tea was already considered the national drink in China. By the year 780 a.C, the Buddhist monk Lu Yu wrote Ch’a Ching, where in three chapters, he describes the methods of farming and the spirituals and ceremonial traditions of tea.
Some time after, the consumption of tea starts to spread to West, trough Central Asia and Russia. Nevertheless, it was only after the first quarter of the XVI century, when the Portuguese arrived at the Far East, that the tea was brought to Europe, starting to be known and sold in the all Continent.
Curiously, the tea only arrives to England in 1652, by the hand of the portuguese Catarina de Brangança. Daughter of the King D. João IV and the Queen D. Luísa de Gusmão, the princess marries with the King Charles II, and she introduces to the English people, she’s favorite drink – the Tea – which will become the most popular drink in the Royal Court, and later on, among all the upper class.
Nevertheless, it was only around the year 1830 that this tradition was completely implemented by the English people, with the help of the Duchesse Bedford that considered the “five o’clock tea”, a chance to show her precious pieces of porcelain and silver. As a consequence, were created protocols to serve the tea, and recipes to harmonize, like toast with butter, jelly or honey, scones, muffins, cakes and a big variety of biscuits and bread.
It’s usual to use the word tea referring to infusions and herbal tisanes, but in fact, tea it’s an infusion of dry leaves from a specific plant, Camellia sinensis, native from China.
The Camellia sinensis, allows production of several different teas, white tea, green tea, black tea and red tea, according with the farming conditions, the harvest, and the leaves preparation and storage.
The infusions and tisanes are obtained by immersion of several plants, leaves, roots and seeds, directly into boiling water. It’s an excellent way to take the best advantage of their benefits.
The infusion is prepared by dropping boiling water over the herbs inside a recipient, and leaving it to rest for some minutes.
The tisane is a type of infusion, which consists in adding medicinal herbs to boiling water, in a closed recipient, for 5 or 6 minutes, and then remove it from the heat and leave it covered to rest for 15 minutes. The tisane is ready to be consumed, after being strained.
Thus, what we usually call “tea” is actually an infusion, except for the infusions that are made with the tea plant, Camellia sinensis.

Vision is one of the five senses that enable the perception of the world around us. It is a way of communication between the individual and the environment. The eyes are the vision sensory organs that capture the light and turn it into nervous impulses, reaching the brain trough the optical nerve. The brain interprets those light streams and creates vision.
The ocular health is as important as keeping a health diet, practicing physical exercise or other caring procedures of our body. Taking care of the ocular health is not only by a direct eye care, but also with the vision maintenance and improving.
Thus, ocular health deserves a special attention, by means of an earlier diagnosis of any changing, proper treatment and ocular health prevention measures.
